Nine Months

Walter was nine months old yesterday and I am just left wondering where the time has gone!  He is such a big boy, crawling all over the place and getting into lots of stuff.  Nothing is safe!  I was on the phone the other day and left the room for a minute, when I came back he was on his way up the steps!!!!  In like two seconds he was already on the fifth step.  I know, you would think by my surprise this might be my first child not my third.  No matter how many children I have go through these same milestones it is always a big deal because I just think of them as being my baby and I never really notice them growing until they are doing something like this.

His favorite toys right now are things with wheels.  I love seeing him playing with a toy car and just moving it back and forth like he is trying to figure out how it is working.  He is such a fun baby boy, we don't know what we would do without you Walter!  We love you!

YUCK!

My conversation with my two-year-old this morning as I was driving...

Margaret:  Mommy, mommy, I see a booooooger.

Me:  a what?

Margaret:  a booooger mommy.

Me:  Margaret, do you need a Kleenex?

Margaret:  no, I put it in my mouth mommy

Me:  YUCK!!!  Don't do that, that is gross!

Margaret:  I like boooogers mommy

Okay, no pic of this because obviously it would gross everyone out!  My Isabella never did stuff like this!  This is so gross, how do I get her to stop!!!!

Special Valentine's Day

Isabella and her best bud Abby

Excited for the Valentine Treats

Isabella had her Valentine's Party at school today and she had a great time. I feel so thankful that I get to go help out with her holiday parties because I remember it as being something that meant so much to me when my mom would do it for me as a child. It was just something I really looked forward to.
The teachers had set up a carnival theme party with a moonwalk and all, and of course there were treats galore.
We have had a lot of fun with this holiday this year making special Valentine's and treats, and for some reason it has seemed to go on for about a week at our house:)
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

Dancing Queen

My little Margaret has been dying to go to dance class for the last several months. As I put in previous posts, when we are at home she wants to only wear leotards and she runs around the house begging me to but on classical ballet music. I must say, short stuff does a pretty good job with her plies, and arabesque.
As a special treat I enrolled her in a one time Valentine Camp at Fairytale Ballet and she loved it! The class was pretty neat, they did a craft, read a story about Angelina Ballerina and then they all dressed up as mice and danced around. I didn't get any pics of the mouse costume because as I was taking pics I noticed a sign on the wall saying no pics or camcorders allowed while they were dancing, oops!
She was on cloud nine all night and didn't mind that she was the youngest on in the class. She even woke the next morning talking about her dance class.

Waiting for class with her big sister!

Can you just feel the excitement!!!

A little bit nervous...

but she warmed up quickly and went straight to work on her moves!

Speedy Recovery

Thanks to all of those who thought of Margaret yesterday, your prayers were heard:)  She was so brave and has recovered so quickly you would think nothing happened to her!  They did put the tubes in her ears and once they got in there saw that her adenoids were inflamed so they went ahead and took them out.  The doctor came out mid procedure to let us know that her tonsils do need to come out because they actually touch completely while she is sleeping and they are worried about her breathing.  Since we were at an outpatient surgical center Margaret would have had to be transfered to Children's Mercy in an ambulance because she was under and had an iv.  We opted to hold off until we were more prepared for this, recovery is not as quick.  We are scheduling it for next month and are hoping for the same nice recovery.
She looked so small when she was laying in that big bed and her main concern was her iv, she hated it!  She loved getting to eat her icecream at 10:00 in the morning and she loved all of the special treats from all who came by.  Thanks!

MaRgArEt MaRy

Tomorrow is a BiG day for us at the Zimmerman house.
My little sweetbug is getting tubes put into her ears and then they are going in with a scope through her nose to take part of her adenoids.  They will then biopsy the adenoid to see if they are inflamed, if they are then we have to go back in to do tonsils and adenoids.  I know that this is a very simple procedure but there is always that little (or big) part of me that is a worry wart!  I just hope that she doesn't feel too much pain because she is still so young it is hard to explain to her why it is all happening.  I know in the end it will make her feel so much better but try explaining this to a two-year-old.
I told her that she could wear her favorite pj's and bring her "Bobby" (her blanket) but she has chosen to wear, you guessed it, her favorite leotard, tights, and matching tutu.  I am sure that we will get several crazy stares tomorrow but as long as she feels most comfortable I don't care.  She is most excited about eating ice cream, I am most excited about good nights of sleep in the future.  She is not worried or scared of a thing, I am worried most because her daddy is on call tomorrow night so he won't be here if we need him.
If you think about it tomorrow please say a prayer for Margaret:)

Loving this Kansas Weather!

               Look at my cute teeth:)

We are so fortunate to have had two BeAuTiFuL Saturday's in a row!   Kyle and I were able to strap the kids in our joggers and go for nice long runs.  They are enjoying being outdoors so much that they are not even complaining, as long as our run always includes a stop at a park.  I know that this weather is just teasing us though so we are trying to be outside as much as possible before it gets cold again.  Heck, we are even grilling out tonight!  Who knew you could do this in Kansas in early February?

Fun At the Gym

Today we met some of Isabella's dance friends at open gym so that the kids could do some jumping around and get all of their energy out.  The gym is at the same place where Isabella takes dance so the girls take a peek in there each week to see what is going on.  After the last dance session Isabella informed me she no longer wanted to take dance, she wanted to try gymnastics.  This is totally fine by me, I mean I really wanted her to continue with dance but was ready for her to try something new to see if she liked it and I am not big on getting them involved in too many activities at one time so I told her she needed to choose one or the other.  She was determined to do gymnastics and it didn't seem like anything else would do until... one day while she was waiting for her dance class to begin she saw a male teaching the gymnastics class.  This did it for her, there was no way this was going to work for her so back to dance we went:)
We do occasionally meet friends at the gym and the girls always have a blast, Walter even got in on the fun today too!

Roly Poly
Girls got Balance!

Margaret making up her own moves:)
King of the Gym!
The Jumping Bean in Action!
This girl loves to jump, doesn't matter where or how many times I have told her no she is constantly finding things to jump on.  We go to people's houses and I am constantly embarrassed because she goes straight for the couch for a jumping session.  I am afraid people think I let her do this at home.  I am really thinking of getting her a little trampoline for the basement...I just have to convince her Dr. Daddy that it will be okay:)

"Mama"

My little man melted my heart today, he said "Mama"!!
All of my children have said "Dada" first so there is just something about when they first say "Mama" that I love and get so excited about.  As you can see he is also giving the sippy cup a try.  Everyone always told me that they grow up too fast and you never really believe it until you live it!  It feels like each of them grows up faster than the last.
