ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK

All five of us ventured out yesterday to our first KU football game of the season and boy did it take some major planning to make sure everyone was happy! The game didn't start until 6:00 but as always Kyle was in complete Jayhawk spirit mode and had us at our tailgate at 3:00, love you honey:) We were the first ones there but that didn't stop us from getting the party started. This was Walter's first official tailgating experience and really the first one that Margaret will probably remember. Last year she was just a little bitty thing when we toted her to the games. We made it through the enitre first half with all three kiddos and they were great. Isabella's favorite was watching the cheerleaders do their thing and Margaret had fun trying to spot Baby Jay and the Jayhawk. Walter and I hung out until the sun went down a bit because boy was it hot. Once we got up in the stands the noise made him a little nervous but he made it until half time. We had a beautiful night and everyone was crashed by the time we got out of Lawrence. It was so fun to see everyone, we are already looking forward to next week!

Roll Over...

Today was a big day at the Zimmerman house! After breakfast I started my day off like any other day by doing a load of laundry. This is just something I have become accustomed to doing. I have it figured if I do a load or two of laundry a day I can keep up without feeling behind. Okay, laundry is not exciting, but what happened next is. I put Walter in his bedroom to do some tummy time while I loaded the machine. When I returned the little stinker was on his back. He rolled over!!!!!!!!! Of course it was just tummy to back but it made me realize how fast he is growing. So for the next hour the girls and I kept trying to have him do it over and over again. He did it a few more times but got too worn out. Great job Walter, we are so proud of you!

Three Months Old

I just love these pictures of our little guy! He is changing so much every day. From the smiles to the alertness I can't believe that three months has already gone by. I couldn't quite capture the dimples with my camera but when he smiles and his dimples show it really just melts my heart! We are having so much fun with you Walter thank you for putting up with all of our craziness:)

Sisters

Okay, I had to add this photo because when I look at it, it means so much to me. I think I get all emotional because I am so glad that they are sisters! I love my two brothers but I always wanted to have a sister as well. Younger, older, it didn't matter to me. I grew up watching my mom and her seven sisters laugh together, talk together, and share everything with each other. It was always a secret wish that maybe my parents would have anther child someday and it would be a girl. I think by the time I was eighteen I realized that this would never happen. Then I was blessed with these two beautiful girls and I can't wait to watch them do all of the things that sisters do. Even though they do a lot of bickering over toys and who is going to be "first", when I do witness those short moments of sisterly love it is so bittersweet!

Zoo Trip

Today we took our annual trip to the Kansas City Zoo. Every year Aunt Kari gives us complimentary tickets for the whole fam. It is a special thing that her work does and something that we look forward to every year. Kyle was bummed this year that he couldn't go but the poor thing was on-call all weekend and we really haven't seen him since Friday night. Instead Nana joined us and we had a wonderful time. The weather was gorgeous and we actually got to see tons of animals. Isabella said her favorite part of the trip was getting to see the monkeys, she got to see a mommy chimp carry her cute little baby on its back. I don't blame her, they are my favorite too. Walter slept through the entire trip except when it was time to ride the train. He had his very first train ride and I think he had a great time! Thank you Kari for sharing this with us:)

Something to smile about...

Today I finally got two full naps out of Walter!!! I am such a schedule person and little Walter has not been the best day sleeper which has been driving me a little bonkers. Granted he is only three months old but my girls were so scheduled, down at 9:00 am and then again at 1:00 pm. I don't know if it is just all of the craziness that goes on during the day around here or if it is just his nature but the poor little guy doesn't want to miss a minute. Well today he got two great sleeps so both mommy and Walter had plenty to smile about:)
He also discovered he has hands today. He has sucked on his hands for quite some time now but today he spent alot of time just staring at his hands. It was almost like he was wondering what he was going to do with them someday.

Catch me catch me if you can...

So today I took the camera to the park to take some pictures. I felt I needed some close shots of Margaret and after a couple of minutes I was reminded why I don't have any. This girl doesn't sit still! On top of that she does everything possible not to be caught by my flash. I figured these shots were the best she has let me take in awhile. We have a nice shot of the eyes, body, and head:)

First Day of Preschool...

Oh, my favorite time of year. Fresh erasers, brand new spirals, clean bookbag, and brand new shoes! Of course I am talking about the first days of school.

Today was Isabella's first day of preschool and boy was she ready. She was such a big girl with no tears:) After five hugs and ten kisses (our usual ritual) she was ready to conquer the classroom. Her preschool is at our church, which is so nice. She couldn't go there last year because her birthday is 19 days after the cutoff date so I sent her to a different preschool to learn some major socialization skills. I guess it worked because this time around she was just a lot more comfortable with all of it.

As you can see in the pic Margaret was under the impression that she was going to school as well. She insisted on taking her book bag into her sissy's classroom. She hung it up in a cubby, sat at the coloring table, grabbed some crayons and a color sheet and told me "bye-bye". She was so sad when I informed her that she would not be staying. I tried to convince her that she was going to have loads of fun with mommy and Walter but she didn't buy into it.

We all missed the little bug tons but I am so happy that she had a great day! Way to go Whiz!!!!

Trying a new blog...

Okay, I decided I didn't like the other blog that I had started and I wanted to give a new one a try. Hopefully I can keep up with this one a bit better. I am kind of nervous about all of the writing that this will involve because math is my strength, not writing. So bear with me guys, I will try to make your experience on our blog as enjoyable as possible:)
